PRIMER BASIC
Formerly Newly coloured (available during the year).
Polymer primer for mineral surfaces
Concentrated and fast-drying. For strong adhesion and even absorbency.
- Polymer dispersion: Increases the adhesion to the substrate.
- Strengthens the surface and reduces the absorbency: Stabilises absorbent surfaces e.g. base plaster, unplastered masonry, lightweight and porous concrete under ETICS (Basalt. EPS, XPS)
- Fast drying formula: Allows overcoating after approx. 1h.
- Highly concentrated: Dillute in 1:3 with water.
Area of application
- Outdoor: floor + wall + ceiling
- Indoor: floor + wall + ceiling
Heating and cooling area
- Floor + Wall
Processing method
- For hand and machine processing
- For penetration of all absorbent substrates.
- For gypsum, mineral and other substrates before application of paints, plasters, fillers and other layers.
Processing details

Substrate requirement
The substrate must comply with the applicable standards, must be solid, free of loose particles, free of dust, paint, residues of demoulding agents and efflorescence. It must be sufficiently rough, dry, evenly absorbent and matured. The surface must not be frozen or water repellent. The substrate must be stable in volume.
Substrate preparation
Ensure the surface is clean, stable, and even.
For smooth or non-absorbent surfaces, such as concrete or old tiles, roughen the surface or apply CEMIX 8040 CONTACT BRIDGE to ensure proper adhesion. For highly absorbent substrates, use CEMIX 2614 DEEP PRIMER. In the case of non-standard or problematic substrates, apply appropriate surface preparation methods or consult Cemix technical support. The substrate shall comply with applicable norms, standards, or material manufacturer's recommendations.
Preparation of the mixture
Before use, dilute the primer with water at a ratio of 1:3.
Thoroughly mix the primer using a low-speed mixer.
Application methods:
Manual: Use a brush or roller to apply the primer evenly to the surface. Wait for the first layer to dry before applying the second coat.
Machine: The primer can also be applied using an air-pressurized sprayer. Ensure even coverage and avoid over-saturation. Suitable for large areas or time-efficient application.
Drying time: Approximately 1–2 hours depending on the substrate type and environmental conditions.
Protect the applied material from rapid drying, direct sunlight, rain, and frost.
