8200 Tile adhesives

Choosing the right tile adhesive depends on many factors: the type of tile, the nature of the substrate, the environment and use (e.g. indoors, outdoors or in damp rooms), the specific requirements of the building project and much more. Tiles made of porcelain stoneware, for example, have a low moisture absorption and thus require particularly high adhesion.

Products with increased flexibility can compensate for slight movements of the subfloor, e.g. in underfloor heating systems, sunlit balconies or in old buildings with wooden ceilings. Especially in the case of large temperature fluctuations with strong thermal expansion, large tile formats in particular are exposed to high loads, which requires increased strength. Flexible products with increased adhesive strength are resistant to deformation, particularly high-performance and minimise the risk of cracking.

For large-scale installations or complex tile patterns that require a longer working time, Cemix offers products with extended open time, which keep the adhesive pliable for longer and allow sufficient time for accurate tile alignment.

For the installation of natural stones such as marble, granite, slate or travertine, there are tile adhesives with special properties. Natural stones often have a higher water absorption and a different expansion and thermal conductivity than ceramic tiles. They therefore require a special adhesive formulation that takes these special features into account. White tile adhesives are colour-neutral so as not to affect the natural colour of the natural stone and to avoid grey haze. They also protect against unsightly stains due to lime efflorescence.

Cemix offers a wide range to ensure the best possible results and a durable and aesthetic installation.
