Where should you start when planning insulation? Why is it worth insulating? What are the components and benefits of insulation systems? What solutions exist and which products are available to us? By what criteria can you choose the right system for your needs? In what form and when can this often costly investment pay off? What is the difference between facade and plinth insulation systems? How should planning be done for new construction or renovation when building insulation must be carried out later?
The Cemix Insulation Guide helps answer all these questions, providing information that is easy to understand even for non-professionals.
When selecting an adhesive, you need to consider the location of use, the properties of the masonry and building materials, the type of insulation boards, and a range of other factors (such as the building’s location, condition, technical parameters, facade color, weather conditions, and other expected environmental influences). To find the right solution, it is also useful to define your own expectations, set goals, and identify the problems that need to be solved in advance.
As a general rule, always use an adhesive that matches the masonry and the type of insulation boards! Using the wrong material will not form a strong bond, will not compensate for the thermal expansion of the boards, and may fail to meet additional requirements, such as enhanced vapor permeability. Due to stronger environmental impacts, it is recommended to use adhesives with higher load-bearing capacity and greater tensile strength for plinth surfaces.
