Application of Masonry Mortars
The range of Cemix masonry mortars allows you to select a solution for any construction or repair task. When choosing a mortar, it is important to consider the masonry material and the expected load on the wall to ensure strength, durability, and structural stability.
For brick walls with standard loads, it is recommended to use 1303 MM3 mortar, which provides reliable bonding of the units and ease of work.
For thermally insulated walls, a key parameter is a low thermal conductivity coefficient of the mortar. This can be reduced by adding lightweight fillers such as perlite, which improves the wall’s thermal insulation properties. The thermal conductivity of 1303 MM3 mortar is approximately 0.79 W/mK, making it optimal for structures with energy-efficiency requirements.
For masonry made of aerated and foam concrete, a thin-layer mortar is usually used. The recommended layer thickness for 1351 M5 mortar is 3–5 mm, whereas for conventional masonry mortars it reaches 10–15 mm.
For clinker brick masonry, it is recommended to use a specialized clinker mortar designed for dense, fired bricks with low water absorption. This ensures strong bonding and long-lasting masonry.
To select the correct masonry mortar, it is convenient to use the Cemix Technical Customer Support, which helps choose the optimal solution based on the masonry material and construction conditions.
