Why is it so easy to work with AQUASTOP?

Coating waterproofing materials offer a number of advantages. Thanks to their liquid consistency, they adhere well to the substrate, seal elastically, adapt to structural movements, bridge larger cracks, and can be applied in a thin layer, which reduces material consumption. They are efficient and convenient to use.

8110 AQUASTOP is a premium flexible waterproofing solution.
The flexible coating waterproofing 8110 AQUASTOP produced by Cemix meets all these requirements and even exceeds them.

An innovation with outstanding performance properties

The material provides reliable protection even against industrial water and is distinguished by exceptional elasticity and ease of application.

  • Frost resistant and suitable for both interior and exterior use.
  • Applicable not only in bathrooms, but also on basement walls and under terrace and balcony coverings.
  • Thanks to its unique properties, it is suitable for tanks, swimming pools, and hot tubs and is resistant to chlorinated water.
  • Fiber reinforced and does not require additional mesh for crack resistance.
  • Maintains flexibility under sharp temperature changes and is ideal for heated floors and walls.
  • Fast setting, allowing work to continue within just a few hours.

Surface Preparation

Before applying waterproofing, the substrate must be thoroughly cleaned. Work may begin only after complete removal of dust and contaminants.

For reliable adhesion, it is essential to use an appropriate primer and allow it to dry completely. Plasterboard surfaces also require a special deep penetrating primer.

Application of coating waterproofing

AQUASTOP is applied in a minimum of two coats, perpendicular to each other. The minimum interval between coats is 4 hours.

In corners and at joints, it is recommended to use sealing tape, and special collars should be used around pipe penetrations.

Tiles are laid directly onto the waterproofing layer

Once dry, the AQUASTOP surface can be tiled directly. This simplifies the layer structure and significantly reduces installation time.

Important: when using large-format tiles (from 60×60 cm), their backs should be coated with flexible tile adhesive for better adhesion.
