FACADE PAINT

Super-resistant acrylic paint

Durable facade protection for long-lasting aesthetic appeal

  • High polymer resin content: Very resistant to mechanical impact. Suitable for entire facade top to bottom.
  • Durable and easy to clean: Weathering and abrasion-resistant, water-repellent and washable.
  • High pigment content: Excellent coverage in one coat.
  • Colour-stable: Will not fade. Contains only UV resistant inorganic pigments.
  • Fast drying.
  • Tintable on demand.

Area of application

  • Outdoors: wall
  • For plinth

Processing method

  • For hand and machine processing
  • Suitable for vertical outdoor surfaces exposed to weather and mechanical stress such as facades, as well as building plinths, fences, and non-structural concrete elements without constant water exposure. Recommended for horizontal indoor surfaces; for outdoor use, only on covered, dry, and moderately used walking areas. Not recommended for high-stress horizontal outdoor surfaces.

Substrate requirement

The substrate must comply with the relevant standards, be solid, stable, free from loose particles, dust, dirt, oil, mould release agent residues and efflorescence. It must be free from water repellency, sufficiently rough, dry, uniformly absorbent and mature.

Substrate preparation

Before commencing work, ensure all areas not intended for treatment are properly covered to protect them from splashes. When repainting, remove any weakly adhering materials, as well as easily and rapidly water-soluble paint layers, films, spray paints, and other decorative coatings from the surface. For heavily soiled or algae-infested surfaces, it's recommended to use water jet washing; in cases of algae infestation, follow up with appropriate disinfection after cleaning.
Prior to repainting older colored varnishes or chalky coatings, apply CEMIX 2614 DEEP PRIMER? to achieve the necessary surface strength. Before painting, apply a primer layer using ?CEMIX 2880 FACADE PAINT? (maximum 15–20% water dilution). Allow at least six hours of drying time after applying the diluted primer layer. For highly absorbent surfaces, use CEMIX 2613 BASIC PRIMER. Avoid over-priming, as it can lead to the formation of a glossy, non-absorbent surface that may hinder proper adhesion.

Preparation of the mixture

Before application, stir up the CEMIX 2880 FACADE PAINT thoroughly at low speed using the appropriate attachment.

Dilution: The paint should not be diluted with water. Only on highly absorbent substrates or at high temperatures, it can be diluted with up to 5% water. The opacity of the paint decreases with dilution.

Yield: approx. 0.14–0.21 kg per square metre per coat is required. One bucket 25 kg is sufficient for a single layer of 100-150 m2 of wall surface. The texture and absorbency of the substrate will affect the amount of material required. The specified material requirements apply to a smooth substrate. For coarser surfaces, it is advisable to check the material requirements by applying a sample on site.

Processing instructions

The paint is always applied to a dry surface with a brush, a roller or airless equipment. When applying by roller, use a scraper grid. When using an airless equipment, follow the manufacturer's instructions for nozzle size and working pressure. Surfaces not accessible with a standard long-haired teddy roller (external and internal corners, ducts, narrow trellises, etc.) should always be pre-treated with a suitable brush or a smaller paint roller suitable for the conditions, for each layer of paint. Apply in 2 (in special case 3) layers. The next layer can be applied after drying. Under normal conditions (air temperature +20oC, relative air humidity 65%), this can be done after 4-6 hours. Low temperatures and high relative humidity will extend the drying time considerably.

The paint required to cover the final surface (or rather: all the surfaces painted with the same shade) is levelled out in a container of suitable size. For large surfaces where this method is not technically feasible for the amount of paint required for one layer, at least three cans of paint are first mixed in the container used for levelling. When one third of the paint thus prepared has been consumed, another layer of paint is poured into the container and mixed well with the rest, etc. Undiluted white paint from the same batch need not be mixed. Each wall surface is painted from one edge to the other continuously.

WARNING:
Our company is not responsible for the determination of material requirements.

SockelTOP is available in 9 basic colours and a choice of 80 specific colours from the Cemix Inspiration colour card. The colour of the applied SockelTOP plinth paint may vary slightly from the colours shown on the samples. The texture, base colour and colour homogeneity of the receptive surfaces of the façades may affect the final colour appearance, as may the weather conditions encountered during the application and the application technique. Be sure to order the paint required to apply to a certain surface from one batch, as there may be minimal colour variation between repeat orders and other batches. Please check the colour shade of the paint on a test area before application, as we are unable to accept any complaints about the colour shade after application.

Treatment after application

The freshly applied material must be protected from: direct sunlight, strong winds, dirt, high temperatures and humidity, frost and precipitation. Direct heating of the surface is prohibited. Under normal conditions the paint will dry within 24 hours.
