Substrate requirement

The substrate must comply with the applicable standards, must be solid, free of loose particles, free of dust, paint, residues of demoulding agents and efflorescence. It must be sufficiently rough, dry, evenly absorbent and matured. The surface must not be frozen or water repellent. The substrate must be stable in volume.

Substrate preparation

Depending on substrate water absorption and climatic conditions, use CEMIX 2614 DEEP PRIMER on gypsum substrates. On absorbent substrates use Cemix 2613 primer, smooth and wooden substrates roughen and use Cemix 8040 contact bridge. Where applicable, treat non-standard substrates with a suitable method to achieve the required properties. Smooth unevenness of substrate with suitable Cemix materials and allow to dry and cure. The substrate shall comply with applicable codes, standards, or material manufacturer's recommendations.

Preparation of the mixture

Before use, stir up the compound thoroughly using a slow-speed mixer with a suitable attachment.

Processing instructions

First, apply one coat of the waterproofing compound to the substrate at corners, joints, connections, around pipe penetrations and drains. Use a brush, roller, or stainless steel trowel to apply the material.
Then, press the fabric sealing tapes into the fresh waterproofing layer.
Apply the tapes with sufficient overlap to securely join them.
Next, apply the first coat of waterproofing over the remaining wall and floor surfaces.
After approx. 1–2 hours (depending on ambient temperature and substrate absorbency), apply the second coat in a crosswise direction, fully covering the sealing tapes.
In uncured condition, the waterproofing must be protected from moisture exposure.
Tiling can begin approx. 12–24 hours after the final coat, depending on environmental conditions and substrate characteristics.
Use only a tile adhesive classified as C2.
Protect the applied waterproofing layer from rapid drying, direct sunlight, rain, and frost.
